Truth Ten Of The 25 Undeniable Sports Truths

(Boxing is dead, and it is being replaced by Ultimate Fighting.)

Everyone knows that boxing, over the past two decades or so, has had its problems.

I believe that it all stems from the fact that there have been a lot of bad boxers and bad character people in the sport.

I am not just talking about the crooks and charlatans the have permeated the sport since the 1950's. Sure there have been some people like that have shown up, but for the most part, it is the type of person that has become a boxer. Some of these people have come from dubious backgrounds. The Oscar De LaHoya’s George Foreman’s, and and Mohammed Ali’s are few and far between.

It, also, does not help that there are a great amount of boxers that have spent at least some time in jail.

Then there is work ethic. Some of the seemingly most talented boxers have the poorest work ethic. They burn bright for a certain short period of time, then they burn out.

Then there is Ultimate fighting.

This is a sport of, for the most part, clean-cut, all-American boy types. They show the work ethic that the boxers in the 1970's and before showed. Most of them keep their noses clean and by doing this, they can get some endorsement deals.

If boxing does not clean itself up, it could end up becoming a niche sport.
