We have seen it before with the Saints and the lease. The negotiations go good and then something gets said by either of the sides ant the negotiations break down.
In the late 1990's, the bad feelings started to go bad before they started when typical Louisiana politics came up and bit Mr. Benson.
What happened was, at the time, there was an expansion of hockey into the south. Mr. Benson wanted to bring a triple-A team to New Orleans. What happened then was that he thought that he had the contract and the state (Mike Forster) reopened the negotiations at the thirteenth hour and giving the lease to an old friend and a heavy contributor.
Then came Governor What’s Her Face (Kathleen Babineaux Blanco). Mr. Benson seemed to be making all the correct moves and walking on eggshells. Somewhere along the line Governor what’s her face decided to negotiate through the press. Then the rhetoric got more and more toxic and it came from both sides.
It seems that Governor Jindal is trying not to get on Mr. Benson’s bad side. He is doing the correct thing in negotiating behind closed doors.
It remains to bee seen if Archie Bunker decides to shoot off his mouth of not, but do not be surprised it his does.
