Playoff Feel

There will be a game this week in the NFL that will have a playoff feel. This game is the New York Giants vs the New Orleans Saints.

It all starts with the fact that both teams have a perfect record. There will be a loser and that team will have a loss while the winner will have a leg up on the home field throughout the playoffs. Granted, it might come down to a coin flip between the winner of this game and the Minnesota Vikings.

It will be interesting to me to see what part of the Saints game that the Giants will decide to shut down. In the last two games we really did not need the Drew Brees to have his normal game. We ran the ball in the last two game very well. I will maintain that the scariest decision for the Giants will be whether or not they will decide to drop down their safeties to stop the run. If they do and end up going man to man, it could be very dangerous. Brees will get off and eat them alive.

They also have to be wary of the turnovers that the defense has been causing. Some of those turnovers have come due to the pass rush of the defensive line. The system is allowing the three first-round draft picks that are the line to flourish. The fact that the Saints can get pressure with the front four and can drop two of the three linebackers into coverage.

I think that the Saints will win a close game, but don’t count out the fact that if they are turning over the Giants offense, it could get ugly fast.
