The Saints defense played extremely well in their firs game. They did what they had to do to win the game.
There is a feel that Greg Williams is one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL. After last night, I can’t say that I disagree.
Even though they were not getting to Brett Favre, he was looking quite harassed .
Williams made a big adjustment, at the half. Vishante Shiancoe was giving the defense a tough time and Williams took Roman Harper and put him in man coverage against Shiancoe. Harper ended up shutting down that particular player and basically shutting down the Viking offense. Sure, they could have ran the ball more, but I think they want to get Favre in the groove.
If the defense plays like that the rest season then we will see another deep run in the playoff.
