This May Be The Time

For many years, I have said that it is the time for the Houston Astros to break the team apart and start all over again.

They did this in the early 1990's.   In 1991, the Astros took it on the chin with a 65-97.  The majority of the team that had gone to the 1986 National League Championship Series were gone from the team.  Mike Scott was the only one left.

Now is the time for the Astros to do it again.

It would be a smart move to do so.  With Hunter Pence, Michael Born, Brett Meyers, Wandy Rodriguez, and other lesser players, they have the ability to get some serious pieces back while getting some salary relief..

Doing this would give Bourn, Rodriguez, Meyers, and Pence the ability to win a ring.

It would give the new owner, Mr. Crane, the ability to see how good a rebuilding job that Ed Wade has done on the Astros minor league system.

I think that it would be a mistake for Mr. Crane to fire Mr. Wade.

There is two and a half days until the trading deadline in Major League Baseball.  Let’s See What happens.
