Truth Two Of The 25 Undeniable Sports Truths

(Don Fear and the union has have killed baseball)

I am going to get a little political here when I say that, and I quote myself, “the era of big unions is over.” For the most part, that is correct. There are a few exceptions to the rule and one is the MLB Players Association.

Since Marvin Miller was their boss, they have won every single fight. Some were the right fights and some were not.

I understand that they want the best for the players, but, at times, they seem to do it to the detriment of the sport. Their greed help to lead toward the strike in 1994 that costed the then Montreal Expos what would have likely been a possible appearance in the World Series.

The union needs to understand that it needs to give a bit to get some back.

To put it another way, they need to start to do things that will serve the best interest of the sport rather than their greed.
