They Are Winning, Will They Stay?

Even though the New Orleans Hornets came up short against the Los Angeles Lakers.

It is painfully obvious that they are short a couple of players.

It looks to me like Chris Paul is the Hornets answer to John Elway.

John Elway was a great quarterback. He ended up in the hall of fame but for most of his career, he was surrounded by lesser talents. Until Ed McCaffrey came along, he only had one other Pro-Bowl type receiver, this is Shannon Sharpe. He did not have a Pro-Bowl running back until Terrell Davis was drafted, then he won a Super Bowl.

I think that David west is Shannon Sharpe to Chris Paul’s, John Elway. Until the Hornets get an Ed McCaffrey or Terrell Davis, the Hornets will languish and not get to the NBA finals and win a championship.

If one looks at the Saints, one will automatically see Drew Brees. What most people miss is that there is a great bit of talent around Brees. You have a couple of deep threat in Devery Henderson, and Robert Meachem. There is a big receiver in Marques Colston. Lastly, there is an incredibly talented tight end in Jimmy Graham.

Even though I think that Emeka Okafore is a pretty good player, he has his draw backs.

The hornets need to do something before Chris Paul’s injuries and/or age catch up with him.
