I have seen it way too often:

Athlete-x does not ger rid of friend-y and the friend will help put the athlete in a bad situation.

What often happens is happens is that these athletes will end up at a night clubs where there is drug dealing or even a murder.

These athletes need to understand that some of the people that they have grown up with are people with questionable character. Those people need to be kicked to the curb. If they are not then you will see the athlete will get popped for being in the wrong place at the wrong time or worse.
